A Bay for All Seasons immersive events

In a nutshell...

Funding: £60,000

Length: ~1 year

Location: Isle of Wight National Landscape

Aim: To bring nature connection to new and diverse communities throughout the National Landscape via fun, educational, and interactive events.

Opportunities: Corporate visit days, corporate volunteering

The opportunity

Now more than ever, we understand how important the arts and nature connectedness are for mental health and wellbeing. In fact, it’s estimated that the NHS could save around £2.1b every year in treatment costs if people have better access to nature (source).

Projects like A Bay for All Seasons are vital for fostering nature connectedness at the local level and opening up experiences to underserved communities that may not traditionally have relationships with the arts and their natural environment.

The project

A Bay for All Seasons is a series of immersive creative events designed to engage communities with their natural environment. Four unique habitats in the National Landscape will host an event each season, totalling 16 events overall.

Over an entire year, communities will connect with the environment and each other through the arts, fostering a shared sense of responsibility, stewardship, and collaborative action.

The potential

The health of our businesses and economy depends on the health of our people and environment. They are co-dependent, but often treated separately. Projects like this help us smash down barriers and strip back to what helps us connect as humans: having fun outdoors and creating things together.

Your business can boost the resilience of local, diverse island communities and secure stronger, thriving economies for the future.

Key outputs

• 16 events: located in 4 unique habitats, occuring once each season throughout a year.

• ~34 artists will be engaged to help deliver immersive experiences at each event.

• ~4,000 participants expected overall with more than 10,000 engaged online.

• New and diverse audiences are engaged, setting a new tone for the future of nature access and wellbeing.
